The purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the basic-level Babysitter’s Training program. This course prepares instructor candidates to use program materials, conduct training sessions and evaluate the progress of course participants. Authorization as a Babysitter’s Training instructor on its own only allows instructors to certify participants in the basic-level Babysitter’s Training course, which includes the additional activities and additional lessons.
Instructor Candidates must:
• Be at least 16 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the instructor course.
• Successfully complete the pre-course session. This includes demonstrating competency in the pre-course skills.
Upon completion of the course, participants will obtain a Babysitter’s Training instructor certification valid for 2 years.
Audience: At least 16 years of age
Delivery: Classroom
Length: Classroom - 9.5 hours
